In observance of St. Patrick’s Day, the Best of Studs Terkel looks back to 1982 and the time Studs welcomed harper Sylvia Woods to WFMT’s studios. In this musical hour, Sylvia tells Studs about winning the 1980 All Ireland Harp Competition, her book, “Teach Yourself to Play the Folk Harp,” and the interesting cultural and military history of this important Celtic instrument. Sylvia and Studs also discuss their participation in the 1982 documentary, Chicago’s Secret Wilderness.
