Maestro Bernand Haitink enjoyed a wide and varied conducting career, leading many of the world’s major orchestras through successful concert seasons. Though the New York Philharmonic never found itself directly under Haitink’s leadership, he nonetheless conducted the ensemble on multiple occasions as a guest. In this concert from 2011, Haitink led the New York Philharmonic in two major works: Haydn’s Symphony no. 96, nicknamed “Miracle”, along with Bruckner’s towering 7th symphony.
