Mon, 4/6 — 2026 Crain-Maling Foundation CSO Young Artists Competition

Violinist Cecilia O’Malley took first place at the 2026 Crain-Maling Foundation CSO Young Artists Competition. She performed the first movement of Erich Wolfgang Korngold’s violin concerto, alongside the Civic Orchestra of Chicago conducted by Naomi Woo. Recorded live in concert, January 17, 2026 at Symphony Center.

Tues, 4/7 — Alex Kleincloseup of Alex Klein posing with oboe

Recognized as one of today’s leading oboists, Alex Klein began his musical studies in his native Brazil. He was Principal Oboe with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for nine years, and in 2017 was awarded the Oboe Emeritus Soloist title by Riccardo Muti.

A postgraduate student at the Royal College of Music, pianist Amiri Harewood has performed at some of the United Kingdom’s most prestigious venues, including the Royal Albert Hall, St. Martin-in-the-Fields, Wigmore Hall, and Royal Festival Hall. Harewood was named a Classic FM Rising Star for 2025.
