William Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon, England, in April 1564. His birthday is often observed on the 23rd, but we don’t really know the date for sure. In this acoustic tapestry, from 1975, Studs weaves together interpretations and commentary from the likes of Edward Atienza, Alfred Deller & Desmond Dupré, John Neville, Barbara Jefford, Marlon Brando, Lord Richard Buckley, Cole Porter, Paul Robeson, Jonathan Miller, and Morris Carnovsky.
