Despite its frequency on world opera stage, Verdi’s Aida never fails to impress newcomers and stalwart fans alike. In 2025, Iranian stage director Shirin Neshat brought a poetic design, complete with multi-media components, to the Opera Bastille stage. Guest conductor Michele Mariotti (Teatro Comunale di Bologna) lead the Paris Opera Orchestra & Chorus.  Super star Piotr Beczała delievered as always in his role as Radamès, while Spanish diva Saioa Hernández brought a stunning performance as Aida. The production also starred Eve-Maud Hubeaux as Amneris, Alexander Köpeczi as Ramfis, and Roman Burdenko as Amonasro.
