Neal Eisfeldt, a talented 17-yr old violinist, is rapidly making a name for himself in the music world. Studying under Almita Vamos and Injoo Choi, he holds dual distinction as a Negaunee Foundation Scholarship Fellow as well as a Fellow of the Chicago Musical Pathways Initiative.
Today on Introductions, Neal debuts a recently uncovered violin sonata from turn of the century pianist-composer Louise Adolphe Le Beau. Le Beau was a gifted performer who had studied with teachers such as Clara Schumann and Joseph Rheinberger. However, her strongly opinionated personality mixed with strict regulations against female music students often prevented Le Beau from reaching the kind of success enjoyed by her male peers – this despite performing all over Europe and even winning an international composition competition for her Cello Sonata Op. 17.

Praised for his sensitive, brilliant musicianship Neal Eisfeldt has been invited to perform at several recitals, fundraisers, and pre-concert performances in the US. He made his solo debut at Carnegie Hall at ten and his orchestral debut at eleven with the Midwest Philharmonic Orchestra. His rapidly expanding soloist portfolio includes appearances with several orhcestras such as the Lancaster Symphony, the Oistrakh Symphony, the Elmhurst Symphony, Fox Valley, Peoria Guild, and Montgomery Symphony. At fourteen, he became the youngest violinist to perform the full Tchaikovsky Concerto with the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra.
Neal has had the honor of being coached by prominent virtuosi such as Hilary Hahn, Midori, James Ehnes, Augustin Hadelich, Ilya Kaler, Gerardo Ribeiro, Cathy Cho, and Vadim Gluzman. He is very passionate about music composition and also enjoys cooking and playing chess in his spare time.
