Nova Linea Musica

Introductions airs two selections by finalists of the inaugural Nova Linea Musica Young Artists Chamber Music Competition. The Chamber Music Competition took place on May 17 and 18, 2026, and was open to Chicagoland chamber ensembles under the age of 25. We hear from third place winners The Tessera Quartet – made up of  violinists Lucy Nemeth and Amina Knapp, violist Erin Bang, and cellist Daniel Dorsey, cello – who performed the first movement of Coleridge-Taylor Perkinson’s String Quartet. Also featured is the winning performance by the Valinor Trio, who gave a rousing rendition of the Piano Trio in F-sharp minor by Armenian composer Arno Babajanian. The Valinor Trio is made up of violinist Cecilia O’Malley, cellist Gabriel Raviv, and pianist Joseph Gallwas.
