Trio Lumina and Beethoven

In this episode of Introductions from the archives, we listen back to the first movement of Beethoven’s “Ghost” Piano Trio as performed by the Trio Lumina in 2023. To compliment the recording, we also hear the trio’s pianist Samuel Kim, and his rendition of Beethoven’s Piano Sonata in C Major Op. 2 No. 3 from earlier that year. Trio Lumina formed at the Music Institue of Chicago in the 2022-2023 school year, and was comprised of Julia Kim on violin, Caleb Sim on cello, and Samuel Kim on piano.
