Tuesday, April 19 — CSO Young Artist Competition Winner
The Crain-Maling Foundation CSO Young Artists Competition returned to Symphony Center in 2022, and the winner was 15-year-old Noah Kim of Vernon Hills. Performing alongside the Civic Orchestra of Chicago and conductor Andrew Grams, Kim won with the first movement of Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 2, with the young artist noting he enjoyed playing the concerto’s “unique suspenseful opening.”

Wednesday, April 20 — Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert: Grace Park and Tyler Wottrich
Grace Park was the winner of the the 2018 Naumburg International Violin Competition. She regularly showcases her artistry as a dynamic soloist and dedicated chamber musician. Park will be joined by pianist Tyler Wottrich, who has distinguished himself as a chamber musician, vocal pianist, solo performer, and teacher.

The Newberry Consort exhilarates with Vespers, a collection of dazzlingly original music for women’s voices. The composer was a mysterious early-17th-century Mexican musician named Juan de Lienas, whose style energetically oscillates between Renaissance and Baroque elements.
