Internationally acclaimed soprano Ailyn Pérez returned to her hometown to perform in Gounod's Faust at Lyric Opera of Chicago. And she visited the WFMT studios to share "The Jewel Song" from the opera as well as one of her favorite songs by composer María Grever, "Júrame." In the video below, broadcast live on Facebook, Pérez performs these two works and speaks with WFMT's Michael San Gabino about the music, her inspiration, and her advice for young musicians today. Ms. Pérez is accompanied by pianist Matthew Piatt.
