Garrick Ohlsson presents a recital of late piano works by Johannes Brahms, a composer with whom he has a close and lifelong association. Three sets of miniatures (Fantasias, Op. 116; Intermezzos, Op. 117; and Clavierstücke, Op. 118) come from the twilight of Brahms’s compositional life. Ohlsson provides a contrasting encore with an energetic scherzo written some forty years earlier, when Brahms was only 18 years old.
