Jacques Loussier died on March 5, 2019, at age 84. The French pianist was known for his jazz interpretations of classical music, most famously, the works of Bach in his Play Bach record series. His ensemble, the Jacques Loussier Trio, sold more than 7 million albums for their interpretations of and improvisations on classical music by Bach, Ravel, Debussy, and more.
