Remembering Picasso’s Gift to Chicago (1967 & 1997)

On August 15, 1967, Studs Terkel captured the responses of Chicagoans at the unveiling of the monumental, abstract sculpture that Pablo Picasso gave to the city. Studs first presented tonight’s program in 1997. It begins with his original 1967 broadcast and concludes with a half-hour of poetry, comedy, and music, all musing on the broad definition of “art.”
