LONDON (AP) — London’s Royal Opera House says Spanish tenor Plácido Domingo has withdrawn from upcoming performances of Don Carlo. The Royal Opera House says in a statement Friday it was mutually agreed with Domingo that he will not be taking up his role in the Giuseppe Verdi classic in July. Domingo is ensnared in allegations of sexual misconduct. The statement says the Royal Opera House received no claims of misconduct against the tenor during his time at the venue and is “sympathetic” about his reasons for withdrawing.
