Jesse Blumberg is a stylistically versatile baritone at ease in music ranging from Baroque oratorios to contemporary opera and art song. His accomplished technique and attention to language have made him a favorite of presenters such as Apollo’s Fire, Boston Early Music Festival, American Bach Soloists, the Marilyn Horne Foundation, and New York Festival of Song. A champion of art song, Blumberg is founding artistic director of Five Boroughs Music Festival in New York City and is the guest artist for next month’s Collaborative Arts Institute of Chicago: Winter Lieder Lounge with the iconic pianist and pedagogue Martin Katz.

Watch Jesse Blumberg’s performance as Jesus in J.S. Bach’s St. John Passion with Nicholas Phan as the Evangelist and Jeffrey Strauss as Pilate and Apollo’s Fire conducted by Jeannette Sorrell.
