Cellist Wendy Warner soared to international acclaim after winning the international Rostropovich Cello Competition at age eighteen. Coming from a musical family in Chicago, Warner studied with Mstislav Rostropovich at the Curtis Institute of Music. She has appeared with leading orchestras in the United States and internationally.

Sapphire Woodwind Quintet has been entertaining audiences with eclectic programs since 2004. Sapphire has performed on concert series throughout the Chicago area, including the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series, Mostly Music Chicago, the Nineteenth Century Club, and the Noontime Concerts at the University of Chicago.

Wed, 3/8 — Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert Series: Ariel LanyiAriel Lanyi at the piano

In 2021, Ariel Lanyi won third prize at the Leeds International Piano Competition and was a prize winner in the inaugural Young Classical Artists Trust (London). Over the last year, he has made his debut at Wigmore Hall and participated in the Marlboro Music Festival in Vermont, alongside renowned artists such as Mitsuko Uchida and Jonathan Biss.
