Meet “the Eric Clapton of the lute” (BBC Magazine). Born in Paris in 1988, Thomas Dunford discovered the lute at the age of nine. 25 years later, Thomas Dunford is in constant demand as a soloist and continuo player by virtually every prominent period instrument ensemble in Europe including Les Arts Florissants, the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, Le Concert Spirituel, and Le Concert d’Astrée. He is the regular recital partner of artists including Iestyn Davies, Lea Desandre, Jean Rondeau, and Théotime Langlois de Swarte.

Dunford founded the stylish period-instrument ensemble Jupiter in 2018 and will bring their acclaimed all-Vivaldi program to Chicago later this month. Learn more about the UChicago Presents performance on March 24 HERE.
