Jean-Paul Gasparian: Debussy

Naïve Classics releases the label debut of French pianist and Steinway Artist Jean-Paul Gasparian, dedicated to the music of Debussy. The disc includes Debussy’s first book of Preludes and his three-movement suite Estampes. The album also includes the premiere recording of Ronde de printemps for solo piano, which was transcribed by Gasparian’s father, pianist Gérard Gasparian. “It is, in a way, a return to my roots,” says Jean-Paul, whose training at the Paris Conservatory enabled him “to deepen my study of the French repertory and to mature my interpretation of the Estampes and Préludes, in particular, through contact with pianists who had themselves recorded fascinating versions of them.”
