In this special program, we explore two symphonies prominent in the Orchestra’s history — Beethoven’s Fifth and Dvořák’s Ninth — through the interpretive lenses of six former Music Directors, as well as one former “Music Advisor” and current Music Director Jaap van Zweden. Arturo Toscanini, Bruno Walter, Zubin Mehta, Leonard Bernstein, Kurt Masur, and Lorin Maazel all conduct on The New York Philharmonic This Week.
