Freddie De Tommaso is a British-Italian tenor who came to international attention in 2021 (at the age of 28!) when he stepped in at the last minute to sing the role of Mario Cavaradossi in Puccini’s Tosca at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Since then, he has been taking the opera world by storm in the Italian lirico-spinto repertoire that is the domain of tenors typically ten years his senior. De Tommaso made his American debut this year singing Cavaradossi at Santa Fe Opera.
