Based in London, Stile Antico is as one of the world’s most accomplished and innovative vocal ensembles. Stile Antico’s performances are praised for their immediacy, expressive commitment, and their sensitive response to text. These qualities arise from the group’s collaborative working style: members rehearse and perform as chamber musicians, each contributing artistically to the musical results.

400 years after William Byrd’s death, Stile Antico’s new album The Golden Renaissance: William Byrd focuses on the music from the composer’s final years. Soprano Rebecca Hickey and mezzo-soprano Rosie Parker join WFMT to share their approach to performing the works of this essential composer, a pillar of the ensemble’s repertoire.

Watch Stile Antico perform Byrd’s sacred song Retire My Soul.
