Meet “the Eric Clapton of the lute” (BBC Magazine). Born in Paris in 1988, Thomas Dunford discovered the lute at the age of nine. 25 years later, Thomas Dunford is in constant demand as a soloist and continuo player by virtually every prominent period instrument ensemble in Europe including Les Arts Florissants, the Centre de Musique Baroque de Versailles, Le Concert Spirituel, and Le Concert d’Astrée. He is the regular recital partner of artists including Iestyn Davies, Lea Desandre, Jean Rondeau, and Théotime Langlois de Swarte.
Dunford returns to Chicago for a solo recital as part of University of Chciago’s Howard Mayer Brown International Early Music Series. Learn more about the UChicago Presents performance HERE.
