In this week’s program, we hear works that were first premiered by the New York Philharmonic. We begin with Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9, which premiered in 1893, followed by Aaron Copland’s Connotations, a work commissioned for the 1962 opening of Philharmonic Hall. Stanley Drucker is the clarinet soloist in John Corigliano’s Concerto, and Elliott Carter’s A Symphony of Three Orchestras rounds out the program.
