13-week radio series will be available to stations around the world beginning January 7, 2025
CHICAGO – October 8, 2024 – The WFMT Radio Network, in partnership with Cleveland’s WCLV/Ideastream Public Media and The Cleveland Orchestra (TCO), announced today that it will present a series of 13 concerts to radio stations around the world beginning on January 7, 2025. These radio broadcasts are produced by WFMT in partnership with WCLV and hosted by WCLV’s Bill O’Connell as part of the WFMT Orchestra Series, WFMT’s nationally distributed weekly showcase of prominent orchestras from around the world.
Featuring a range of repertoire performed by an array of distinguished artists, these programs bring together three distinguished cultural institutions – WFMT, a global distributor of audio programs; The Cleveland Orchestra, one of the world’s most sought-after performing ensembles; and the award-winning public radio station WCLV.
The concerts are primarily conducted by TCO’s longtime Music Director Franz Welser-Möst, along with visiting conductors Daniel Harding, Rafael Payare, Dalia Stasevska, and Barbara Hannigan. The series premieres with Mahler’s epic Symphony No. 2, Resurrection. Other repertoire includes Bartók’s colorful Suite from The Miraculous Mandarin, second symphonies of Sibelius and Tchaikovsky, the Brahms Piano Concerto No. 1 with Daniil Trifonov, and much more.
With this new series, The Cleveland Orchestra builds on a long history of national broadcasts as it joins the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the San Francisco Symphony, and the Los Angeles Philharmonic in the WFMT Radio Network’s collection of curated concert programs from the finest American orchestras.
Concerts by The Cleveland Orchestra will be broadcast on Chicago’s classical music radio station WFMT and many other outlets across America and around the world. Check local listings for dates and times.

“I am thrilled to announce a new series that will continue this tradition of bringing the Cleveland Sound to our fans around the world,” said André Gremillet, the Orchestra’s President & CEO. “By partnering with WCLV, WFMT, and a wide network of broadcasters across the country and beyond, we aim to inspire and connect with new audiences while fostering a deeper and renewed appreciation for the artistry that takes place on stage here in Cleveland every week.”
