Pianist Jet Stephen Chong perform works by Sergei Prokofiev, Tōru Takemitsu, and Maurice Ravel, live from the Seventeenth Church of Christ, Scientist, Chicago.
Jet Stephen Chong, a pianist of Filipino-Chinese descent, has garnered numerous accolades in both Philippine and international piano competitions, including top honors at the National Music Competition for Young Artists and other prestigious events. He has extensive experience performing with orchestras, including his debut at the age of 15 with the Manila Symphony Orchestra and a performance of Tchaikovsky’s First Piano Concerto with the ABS-CBN Philharmonic Orchestra. He has also given solo recitals in the Philippines, Singapore, and the USA.
Recent highlights of Jet’s career include performing Mozart’s 25th Piano Concerto with the Narra Quartet and giving a recital in the Goldenberg Concert Series, a project of the First Lady of the Philippines. He also co-launched a house concert series in the Philippines, aimed at promoting young Filipino musicians and expanding the classical music audience.
