The Thomanerchor Leipzig, one of the oldest boys’ choirs in Germany and the oldest cultural institution in the city of Leipzig, is preparing to embark on a US tour next month. In advance of their performance at Grace Lutheran Church in River Forest, managing director Emanuel Scobel joins WFMT to share some of the storied history of the legendary ensemble whose previous music directors include Johann Sebastian Bach.
