Pene Pati came to international attention as a member of the crossover ensemble SOL3 Mio. Revered for his “round and sunshine filled voice,” (Le Monde) the Samoan tenor from New Zealand is on the rise, having recently debuted at the Royal Ballet and Opera, the Metropolitan Opera, and Bayerische Staatsoper. An exclusive recording artist for Warner Classics, his self-titled debut album earned him the Opus Klassik Newcomer of the Year Award, Best Male Singer at the Opera Critics’ Awards, and Opera Magazine Readers’ Award at the International Opera Awards. His second album, Nessun Dorma, which features his wife, soprano Amina Edris, and his brother, tenor Amitai Pati, was released last fall. Pene Pati joins WFMT to share performances from his growing discography and and to preview his upcoming debut at Lyric Opera of Chicago in Puccini’s La bohème.
