Nineteenth-century composer and pianist Ricardo Castro toured and taught everywhere from Mexico to New York to Leipzig. He also studied under another famed Latin American pianist and composer, Teresa Carreño, while in Europe. His music embodied the sound and feel of the Romantic era in Mexico.  We will highlight his piano concerto and cello concerto, the first ever written in Latin America.
