Clocking in at over an hour long, Anton Bruckner’s Symphony No. 9 in D minor is among the longest in the genre. It was the last symphony he wrote in 1896, on left incomplete at the time of his death. This titan is paired with Mieczysław Weinberg’s second symphony – an expression of grief and sorrow following the composer’s personal losses during World War II.
