With a career spanning nearly 40 years, violinist Joshua Bell needs no introduction. The American violinist, conductor, and Music Director of the Academy of St. Martin in the Field, has become one of the most well-known classical musicians of his generation, performing worldwide for a variety of audiences. He joined Alan Gilbert and the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra in 2025 for a performance of Saint-Saëns’s third violin concerto. Also on the program are big staples of orchestral repertoire: Strauss’s Don Jaun, Stravinsky’s The Firebird, and Prokofiev’s first symphony.
