In the 1920’s, Francis Poulenc collaborated with keyboard player and renowned harpsichordist Wanda Landowska to produce his only harpsichord concerto. The work, titled Concert Champêtre, features an orchestral part scored for cymbals and xylophone in addition to the standard orchestral instruments. Maxim Emelyanychev tackles the concerto alongside the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. Also on the program: three suites by composers from different eras, all known for their ballet music.
