Guarneri Hall has announced its 2026-27 concert season. Located in Chicago at 11 E. Adams Street, the space hosts a diverse selection of chamber music events across classical and jazz mediums.
The season opens with its flagship NEXUS Chamber Music Festival. Now in its ninth year, the festival’s co-artistic directors Brian Hong and Alexander Hersh will lead ensembles in works by Shostakovich and Mendelssohn as well as contemporary works, including the world premiere of a new string trio by trumpeter/composer Michael R. Dudley Jr. Performances run from August 12-14, 2026.
2026 highlights include the performance of all nine Prokofiev piano sonatas by Adam Neiman (September), the return of Jazz @ GH with Stéphane Wrembel (September), a program of American women led by Soprano Kristina Bachrach (October), and concerts exploring how music played a part in two different revolutions (November).
Schubert’s famed song cycle Winterreise will kick off 2027 with a performance by soprano Chrystal E. Williams. In February, pianist John Novacek offers ragtime through new and classic compositions, while March brings a focus on birdsong in the works of Messiaen.
The season wraps up with a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the space. Threshold Acoustics, the company behind the design of Guarneri Hall, will host two days of lectures and music examples in May 2027, explaining principles of acoustic design using live music as examples.
