Duo Recital: Lauren Decker and Alan Higgs

Contralto, Lauren Decker will perform Edward Elgar’s atmospheric song-cycle Sea Pictures in our next Ryan Opera Center recital.  She will also be speaking with host, Colin Ure about this challenging work as well as rare voice type: contralto.  Bass-baritone Alan Higgs will perform Mozart’s aira, “Mentre ti lascio”, the Gershwin’s “Just Another Rumba”, and Three Songs Op. 10 by Samuel Barber.  They will be joined on the piano by Ryan Opera Center pianist Madeline Slettedhal.
