Enjoy some live music from the comfort of your home this Friday, May 1 at 7:00 pm, as multifaceted pianist and composer Aaron Diehl gives a free concert livestream of swinging Harlem stride music from his New York City home. In a live stream co-presented by WFMT, University of Chicago Presents, the Chamber Music Society of Detroit, and the Civic Music Association of Des Moines, Diehl will share the virtuosic 1920s tunes of James P. Johnson, Thomas “Fats” Waller, and Willie “the Lion” Smith. A classically trained pianist who’s spent much of his career in jazz music, Diehl will also share selections by Grieg, Massenet, and Gershwin as well as ragtime standards by Eubie Blake and Scott Joplin.

Watch the free concert stream live this Friday, May 1 at 7:00 pm CT on WFMT’s Facebook page or on YouTube. WFMT is proud to present the concert livestream as a promotional partner alongside presenting partners the University of Chicago Presents, the Chamber Music Society of Detroit, and the Civic Music Association of Des Moines.
