A co-presentation with UChicago Presents, the Chamber Music Society of Detroit, and the Civic Music Association of Des Moines, this concert features the propulsive Harlem stride hits by James P. Johnson, Thomas “Fats” Waller, and Willie “the Lion” Smith, plus selections by Scott Joplin, Gershwin, and Massenet. Diehl performs live from his New York City home.
