Marin Alsop leads the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Joshua Bell at Ravinia

This morning, the Ravinia Festival announced its next president and CEO: Jeffrey P. Haydon. The CEO of the Caramoor Center for Music and Arts in New York since 2012, Haydon was previously on the staff of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and served as executive director of the Ojai Music Festival.

He’ll be taking over for Welz Kauffman, who announced last October that he would depart in September 2020 after 20 years as the festival’s president and CEO.

“I am honored to be asked to lead the Ravinia Festival…” Haydon shared in the statement, “I look forward to returning to Chicago to join the Ravinia Family.”

Ravinia’s 2020 season was canceled in its entirety because of the COVID-19 pandemic, marking the first season-long closure since the Great Depression.
