Cellist Jean Hatmaker should be familiar to Chicago-area classical music enthusiasts: she is a founding member of the Kontras Quartet, the principal cellist of the Elmhurst Symphony Orchestra, and the former principal cellist of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago.

On June 16, 2021, Hatmaker teamed up with pianist Michael Finlay to perform music by Brahms and Coleridge-Taylor live on WFMT's airwaves and social media channels in a sensitive, commanding Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert.
