Soprano Louise Toppin is Professor of Music at the University of Michigan, specializing in the repertoire of African-American composers. Dr. Toppin, editor of numerous anthologies of art songs by Black composers, recently contributed to the Bienen School of Music’s Black Composer Showcase series. Dr. Toppin curates this week’s playlist, spotlighting Margaret Bonds and other favorite composers.
