This week, a few Mexican tenors (there happen to be three) whose repertoire share a common composer: Rossini. Francisco Araiza made his professional debut in the 70’s and was considered *the* Mozart and Rossini specialist of the 80’s. Ramón Vargas made his debut in the 90’s and established himself as a bel canto specialist before graduating to the full-lyric repertoire. Today, Javier Camarena is one of the most sought-after singers in the world, especially for the technically demanding tenor roles in operas by Rossini, Donizetti, and Bellini.
