This week, Chase Hopkins, General Director of Haymarket Opera Company, joins Oliver to preview the company’s presentation of Orlando. The 1733 masterpiece by George Frideric Handel is centered on a violent anti-hero who goes mad with jealousy, stretching the conventions of the High Baroque to create a true musical drama. Singing Orlando is the the leading exponent of the role — the internationally acclaimed countertenor Bejun Mehta.
