In 1991, Studs Terkel interviewed Mark Ludwig on "Entartete" chamber music from composers interned at the Terezín concentration camp during World War II. Ludwig is the founder of the Terezín Music Foundation and violist of the Hawthorne String Quartet.
In this program for Holocaust Remembrance Day (April 28), producer Jan Weller supplements the original Studs Terkel program with more music from the Terezin Music Foundation archives, as well as a new interview with Mark Ludwig about his new book, Our Will to Live, which includes music criticism by Terezín composer Viktor Ullmann and illustrations by Terezín artists.
