George Preston interviews Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra music director Ken-David Masur, who uses the theme of nature for the upcoming season including Richard Strauss’ An Alpine Symphony, Iman Habibi’s Every Tree Speaks, Antonín Dvořák’s In Nature’s Realm, and a separate festival this winter on the theme of water. Says Masur, “Themes of new life, fresh air, and earth’s elements are relatable to all of us and connect us to each other. A city built on water, Milwaukee’s link to this precious element will be celebrated in our Water Festival.”

MSO’s 2022-23 season on the WFMT Radio Network begins in October.
