Kathryn Lewek is the Metropolitan Opera’s reigning Queen of the Night, holding the record for singing the role the most times in the company’s history. The thrilling coloratura soprano returns to Chicago to perform her signature role in Ravinia Festival’s The Magic Flute with Chicago Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Marin Alsop. She joins Oliver Camacho to share her album of cantatas by Handel and to discuss the musicianship and technique required to sing some of the most demanding music in opera.
