The Freiburg Baroque Orchestra joins Vox Luminis, the Belgian early music vocal ensemble led by Lionel Meunier, to bring us a program for Advent featuring Magnificats and festival cantatas by Johann Sebastian Bach and Johann Kuhnau, a veritable polymath, as well as Bach’s contemporary and predecessor as Kantor of Leipzig. Recorded live in concert in Freiburg im Breisgau’s Konzerthaus.

Thanks to WFMT’s Association with the European Broadcasting Union and our thirty-day stream following tonight’s broadcast, you can enjoy this program throughout the holiday season. A blue “Listen” button will appear when the link is accessible.
