Join us for a recital of eclectic songs with mezzo-soprano Sophia Maekawa and bass Wm. Clay Thompson. We will hear Ms. Maekawa in Purcell’s “When I am laid in earth” from Dido and Aeneas as well as Debussy’s Les Chansons de Bilitis. And we will hear Mr. Thompson as Mefistofele in Boito’s “Ecco il mondo” and in two arrangements by Steven Mark Kohn of “Ten Thousand Miles Away” and “The Ocean Burial”. We will also hear music by Franz Schubert, Gabriel Fauré, Roger Quilter, and Kosaku Yamada. Our singers will be joined by Ryan Opera Center pianist Michael Banwarth.
