CHICAGO – January 8, 2025 – Window to the World Communications, Inc. (WWCI), parent organization of WFMT and WTTW, announced today that John Clare has been selected for the position of Morning Music Host for WFMT effective January 20, 2025. Clare will host the important Monday through Friday, 6:00 to 10:00 am morning shift beginning January 27.

A winner of the ASCAP Deems Taylor Award, John Nasukaluk ‘Nasuk’ Clare comes to WFMT from SiriusXM, where he has hosted classical music programs for a national audience since 2018. Born in Alaska of Inuit heritage, John has been performing music since childhood. He studied composition and violin performance at Wichita State in Kansas, and went on to establish his radio career across the country, including at Nevada Public Radio, Texas Public Radio, KMFA in Austin, Classic 107.3 in St. Louis, and WGUC in Cincinnati. He most recently served as host/producer at Classical Music Indy in Indianapolis, and as Symphony Hall host at SiriusXM.
“I love classical music and sharing it with people, and I consider it my life’s work to find new and interesting ways to introduce music, composers, and performers to an audience of curious listeners,” said Clare. “WFMT is the gold standard in classical music radio, and I’m overjoyed to join in that tradition in this next phase of my career.”
Clare will build on WFMT’s history and reputation for classical music radio excellence in the service of creating programming that is accessible and inspires curiosity and exploration. He will be onsite to produce new broadcast programming and digital features, serve as host for live specials, and collaborate on WFMT’s community engagement efforts and activities.
Clare will report to WFMT Lead and Midday Host Lisa Flynn.
