French baritone Florian Sempey, a specialist in Rameau, Mozart, and Rossini, made his American debut as Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro at Santa Fe Opera this summer. He joined host Oliver Camacho in Santa Fe to share his approach to singing his signature repertoire. Next month, the WFMT Opera Series presents Bizet’s The Pearl Fishers from the Aix-en-Provence featuring Sempey’s acclaimed performance in the role of Zurga.
