Next month, the debut solo album of tenor Eric Ferring with pianist Madeline Slettedahl, No Choice but Love: Songs of the LGBTQ+ Community, will be released on Lexicon Classics. Eric Ferring joins Oliver to preview the double-CD album which seeks to highlight diverse LGBTQIA+ voices and perspectives through art song. No Choice But Love features works by Manuel de Falla, Francis Poulenc, Ethel Smyth, Benjamin Britten as well as works by some of today’s leading composers like Ricky Ian Gordon, Jake Heggie, and Jennifer Higdon.
