Brennan was an active and engaged leader, serving on nearly every committee of the WTTW-WFMT board.

The festival’s artistic director Elbio Barilari, who also hosts WFMT’s Fiesta, remarked of the festival that “just the idea that a Latin American classical music festival exists in the US and has already been going on for 14 years is very exciting!”

For 50 years, the sculpture, known simply as the Chicago Picasso, has delighted and baffled passersby. The artist never revealed his inspiration.

Chance stated: “I’m committed to helping Chicago’s children having quality learning experiences, experiences that include the arts.”
